17 Jasper County volunteers were serving as advocates for 42 abused or neglected children as of December 31, 2008. Our volunteers stand up for abused children and serve as their voice in the Family Court system. |
|
Next training session starts: February 22, 2010. |
The Guardian ad Litem Program encourages men and women of all ages, races, education levels and backgrounds to volunteer. No special skills are needed, just compassion, caring and common sense. You must have a sincere desire to help children, and be willing to make a commitment of 4-6 hours per month. You will be required to pass background and reference checks. You
will then complete the free, 30 hour training program. Once you have been accepted into the program as a trained volunteer, we will ask that you accept at least one case, and stay with that child until their case is closed. |
See how you can make a difference for an abused child. Questions? Try our FAQ! |
